Our Peoria State Hospital Museum is located inside of the original Horse Barn-turned-Firehouse of the institution. It is the home to thousands of newspaper articles, historical photographs, and authentic artifacts from the Peoria State Hospital.
The museum is open during historical tours and events only.
Located at the home of the Haunted Infirmary - the Pollak Hospital - movie nights are a full evening of entertainment including a scary movie and like-themed Haunt Hallway or Haunted Trail (shorter than the Haunted Infirmary October event.)
The Old State Hospital Courtyard Bazaar is an annual vendor event held at the building complex formerly known as Lohman Hall - the activities center for the Peoria State Hospital. Our last bazaar boasted over 80 vendors and entertained the patrons with live entertainment.
The History Tour includes a historical slideshow of the Peoria State Hospital, a tour of the Pollak Hospital (tuberculosis ward of PSH), a tour of the cemeteries (weather permitting,) historical scenes with costumed actors, a visit to the Peoria State Hospital Museum, and after a brief intermission, the option to stay at the Pollak Hospital for a 2 hour paranormal investigation. Tour dates are seasonal.
Your ghost-hunting team will begin its evening with a historical slideshow of the asylum history and paranormal activity of the hospital, followed by a guided tour of the tuberculosis ward building of the Peoria State Hospital. Afterwards, your team will be left with only one building caretaker so that you may enjoy hunting for paranormal activity alone with your team in the historic asylum location.
The Haunted Infirmary Haunted House is located inside of the Pollak Hospital, the tuberculosis ward of PSH. Haunted Infirmary is an annual fundraiser for the community of Bartonville's Junior Football League (JFL) and was voted #2 in the state of Illinois in 2015 by visitors to the Infirmary.
